The INNFM Spring Rheology Meeting 2020

To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Institute of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, our next spring meeting will be held at Portmeirion village in North Wales.

Portmeirion hotel

Portmeirion is an Italianate village, the creation of architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, which stands on its own private peninsula overlooking the Snowdon mountain range and the sea. It can be reached from London, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham by road and by rail. Those intending to travel by rail are advised to pre-book a taxi with the hotel.

The meeting will run from lunch on Monday 6th to Wednesday 8th April 2020. The principal focus of the meeting will be recent advances in non-Newtonian fluid mechanics but papers on general rheology are also welcome.

The registration fee of £550 includes full board accommodation. The fee for accompanying people sharing a room with a full delegate is £200. Given that the total number of rooms in the Portmeirion complex (hotel, village apartments and castle) is 55, early booking is recommended!

The registration form is available here.

Confirmed speakers include Russell Davies, Suzanne Fielding, Ian Frigaard, Gerald Fuller, Jeff Giacomin, Oliver Harlen, Joao Maia, Gareth McKinley, Mats Stading, Roger Tanner and Manfred Wagner.

Papers presented at the meeting will be considered for publication in a Special Section of Physics of Fluids. The AGM of the British Society of Rheology will be held during the meeting.
